Met Gala Red Carpet 2014

Known to many as “America’s First Couturier“, British designer Charles James, was the inspiration hosted by The Metropolitan Museum of Arts during its annual Costume Gala in New York and this years honorary guests embodied elegance in a follow up to last years punk inspired theme.

Frank Ocean, Erykah Badu, Jay-Z & Beyonce all wore Givenchy Couture, while Rihanna dressed in a Stella McCartney dress, Jacob & Co. necklace, Cartier rings, and Dionea Orcini rings.

Laced with Harry Winston jewelry, Amar’e Stoudemire as well as both Kanye West & Kim Kardashian were dressed in Lanvin ensembles yet, Kim accessorized in Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry. Marc Jacobs was spotted in Saint Laurent. Lupita Nyong’o was dressed In Prada and complimented by Cartier jewelry.

Not to mention ASAP Rocky & girlfriend Chanel Iman were also spotted jazzed in couture. These examples of stylistic diversity were just a few amongst a network of other fashion enthusiast. The men were themed to dress in white tie, which included tails, silk socks and pumps and created a variation of tuxedos. While the women matched their male counter parts there were blotches of creativity spotted continuously. A showcase of lavish styles were on display as social media went into a chatter over the struts of fashionistas emerged on to the red carpet on Monday night.
