Two years after Oliver Rousteing was announced as Balmain’s creative director, his efforts to show a opposition in the image that Balmain has always projected has been nothing short of a success.
The label has been known for its “come alive in the night time” appeal but Oliver has bridged the gap between night and day. Glamour will always be a part of the fashion houses sense of style but there has definitely been a diverse change of pace. The 2014 spring/summer looks consist of relaxed silhouettes, quilted denims and silk prints.
This upcoming season’s looks also carry of a variety of jumpsuits, powder pink and blues, black leather skirts, motorcycle style jackets, accents of necklaces and wrestler belts, with and a collaborative effort to still implement crystals which are very predictable when it comes to the designs over at Balmian.
To top it all off, Rihanna has become an official face of the brand. Oliver Rousteing has liberated the brand by capitalizing on the influneces of pop culture and fashion. Like we say over here at Yadda Life. Music. Culture. Power.
