Artist Hype: Michigan Rapper P.L.
On a road to success, Dirty Gloves‘ Michigan rapper P.L. from Ann Arbor, Michigan is on the rise. You may sit there for a second and think ‘his name sound familiar’ — (as it should). Being a five-week Freestyle Friday champion on BET‘s 106 & Park left many people magnet to his name. In his rapping career, he has opened for many established names in the industry with the likes of Fabolous, Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz, Camron and Juelz Santana.
P.L.’s mixtape grind is heavy and solid. Releasing several mixtapes such as “The Juice” (Series mixtapes 1-4) and “Without Warning” (Vol. 1-3) has put P.L. in a position to collect more ears for listeners. A few of those listeners were Detroit’s own, D12. Placing him as a featured artist on their “Return of The Dozen” mixtape (“13 MC’s“).
Those Freestyle Friday punchlines and being co-signed by D12 and Swizz Beatz for his Hot 16 bars weren’t for the hell of it. His rhymes let the talent speak. Spreading what he knows as an artist, P.L. was a rapper turned rap coach for MTV‘s season 11 television show MADE. Helping a high schoolers dream become true to grow as a rapper.
With the success of touring in Asia, Canada & Europe, having multiple mixtapes, plus radio single “Fresher Den You” on airplay has strived P.L. to continue further as a rapper. He recently released his latest mixtape, “The Turning Lane” online which includes the popular favorite “Single” featuring Jwan. “U Mad” produced by Cardiak is P.L.’s next single from “The Turning Lane” newly released mixtape. If you haven’t heard of P.L. music before, then start by downloading TTL mixtape and stay tuned to “Michigan’s Best Kept Secrets, P.L.“.
