Monica Fights For Lil’ Kim Verse in “Anything (To Find You)”
Monica‘s newest single, “Anything (To Find You)” featuring Rick Ross and Lil’ Kim is now a one feature song. Lil’ Kim was removed from the song because of clearance reasons. It’s not a particular lyric or phrase that was used by her, it’s the Biggie‘s “Who Shot Ya” beat that’s sampled. If she were to keep the Queen Bee on the track then a lawsuit would be filed, in the order of B.I.G.’s mother Voletta Wallace. Monica explains on Twitter how she respects Lil’ Kim and currently fighting for her verse to stay on the song.
“I am just finding out what has happened to my single and myself & Missy are beyond hurt that @LilKim was removed. She’s our friend, a legend & @LilKim will get the respect she deserves at all cost. The clearance was revoked & I’m fighting to get it reinstated by the Biggie Estate. We respect all parties involved & were gonna do WHATEVER to keep the song as is because @lilKim the bizness on the record…I am as [through] as they come and I LOVE @LilKim bottom line is Ms Wallace has the final say and she said No. If we put it out we get SUED.”
Missy Elliott who’s also the producer of “Anything (To Find You)” went on Twitter to encourage Brown as she receives criticism from assumers of other faults on the record being altered. “@MonicaBrown moe keep ya head up I know its a lot on u right now somethings are out of a artist control. Love u. Stay up”. Meanwhile, Lil’ Kim gives her input on how her babies Monica and Missy been going hard for the situation. She also mentions how Monica, Missy Elliott and herself have something even bigger in the future.
